Now-a-days, the safety of senior citizens is a big concern. Most of the senior citizens are not feeling safe in cities.
They are the easy target of criminals especially those old couples who stay alone, away from family members.
Here are few tips shared by few senior citizens that will help secure the senior citizens:
1. Report about your details in the nearest Police station. Details like Name, age, address, family members at home, their details,
servant details, tenant details, phone number, health issues etc.
2. Take sufficient information about the servants and do proper inquiry before hiring one.
Also, inform their details to Police. This will always be in the servants mind and will discourage them to do any criminal activity.
3. Take sufficient information about the tenants and do proper inquiry before giving the house on rent.

4. Keep a see through hole(Peephole) in the main door and see the person first through the cat hole before opening the door. If in doubt, don't open the door.
5. Also, put a chain in the door so that door will open slightly and can be closed immediately if needed.
6. Keep good relation with the neighbours and help each other. Meet regularly and discuss problems and take suggestions.
7. Don't keep lot of golden jewellery at home. Don't wear lot of golden jewellery as well.
Keep the golden jewellery in Bank locker.
8. Same rule for Cash. Don't keep more money at home. Rather keep the money in Savings account in a Bank. And withdraw as and when needed with some extra money for regular expenses.
9. Keep jewellery and money at safe places in the house and out of reach of Servants. Transact safely outside view of servants or other outsiders. Else, this will tempt them to commit crime.
10. Put CCTV camera at home. This will discourage miscreants to commit crime. Also, criminals can be caught very easily.
11. Deploy Security personnel if needed.
