How to check that my number is on DND

If you want to activate DND(Do Not Disturb) service which is a good initiative by Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) to keep you away from Spam SMS or Promotional calls, follow these steps.

But if you receive Spam SMS or Promotional calls even after you register for DND, difinitely you can check you phone number if it is there in the DND database or not. If it is not there, you will have to register again for DND.

How to check that my number is on DND:

1. Open the National Do Not Call Registry by clicking on below URL: http://ndncregistry.gov.in/ndncregistry/index.jsp

2. Click on DND Registration Check Button

3. Search Screen will appear. Enter your phone number and press Search.

4. If your number is registered for DND, you will get below message.
"This Number is Registered in NDNC Registry Database"

If not yet registered for DND, you will get below message.
"This Number is not Registered in NDNC Registry Database"

DND stands for “Do Not Disturb”. As per the latest TRAI (Telecom Regulatory Authority of India)guidelines, if your mobile number is on the “Do Not Disturb” (DND) list, then you will not receive any unwanted telemarketing calls and SMS. You have the option to receive calls and SMS from a few selected industry.

Activation or deactivation of DND service takes 7 working days.

To register your number for DND, simply dial 1909 from your mobile number or just send 'START DND' as an SMS to 1909.

To de-register your number from DND, simply dial 1909 from your mobile number or just send 'STOP DND' as an SMS to 1909.
